What We Did With Our Covid Year
We have mentioned a few times here that due to Covid, our first year was spent helping our dear friends with their sister project, The Accidental Swingers. Their project is primarily a podcast, and I was a technical advisor for the project. My background as a computer person and as a musician gave me some good experience in both web work, and sound engineering. And so I helped when and where I could, and it has been very challenging and great fun.
Becoming Part of the Podcast Community
And now, in ways totally unexpected, that work has begun to pay off in terms of becoming part of a new community, the community of podcasters. We are very thankful that our cumulative efforts are being very successful, and our friends have put great energy into not only their swinging content, but in learning to be great podcasters.
Sharing and Helping
Part of the way they have done this is to join and volunteer for several podcast related events, one of which is PodFest. This year, they convinced me to submit a presentation for our solution to some of the unique audio challenges we faced with The Accidental Swingers podcast, and I am happy to say it was accepted.
And Having Fun Along the Way
Aside from just building community and helping friends, there is something else cool about all of this… PodFest is seeking to break the world record for largest podcasting event, for the second year in a row. If they succeed, then I will actually be a part of world record event… pretty cool!
