Meet Phoenix Phyre

Hi, my name is Phoenix Phyre, and I am one of the co-founders of Swinky Life. As things are beginning to pick up for us, we thought it would be good to publish a quick series of blogs to introduce ourselves, and this is mine. One of the things we want to make sure people really understand is that we are very much like many of you… we have lots in common, such as kids, dogs and cats, aging parents, and the entire range of normal concerns such as Covid, careers, retirement, staying in shape, etc. But, also just like you, we are all totally unique, and have our own experiences, which shape our opinions and biases. Because of this, the four of us cover a lot of territory and bring a lot of diversity to all of our conversations and events. As for my personal contribution to this team, this is how I currently think of myself at this point…

I have decided all labels are wrong, and bad, and misleading… I am an explorer, on a journey, and I have met the most amazing people along the way. I have fucked many of them, loved some of them, hurt a few of them who wanted to be hurt, and constantly been happily surprised at where the next bend in the road took me. Along the way, my rope skills have improved tremendously, and I often suspend my lovers in rope now, and I love everything about it. My bag of toys, floggers, whips, canes, and other implements of love and affection has gone from a small gym bag to a large suitcase that never makes it through airport security without some additional attention anymore.

No matter what label you choose… Open, Swinger, Kinky, Poly, Top, Bottom, Switch, Sadist, Masochist… it is all just a focused range on a huge continuum. The fact that you are here at all means your mind is more expansive than the norm… expand it more. Realize that all these labels are momentary descriptions of a constantly evolving character. Go with the flow… dare to try the thing you said you never would. I have… and life is so much better for it. Find someone who excites you, and then challenge them… and let them challenge you back. The world of kink has so much to offer if, truly, deep down, what you seek is the ultimate expression of your potential as a human being, even if just in the sexual realm.

Having said that, the labels that I feel most closely aligned with now are – I am a Dom, Top, Rigger, and slight Sadist, so obviously Kinky, Poly, Swinger. But I am also generally introverted and quiet until I know people well, and my scening is almost always egalitarian; I do not have strong power dynamics in any relationships, or most play. But… SOMETIMES… just for fun… 😉

While I do not subscribe to the notion of “The one and only soulmate” kind of stuff, in the summer of 2019, we met the most amazing couple we have ever met, and the flaming hot poly 4some that sprang forth out of that has brought more love and happiness into the lives of 4 human beings than you can imagine. We love and support one another, share one another, fuck one another, tie one another up and do horrible things to one another, and above and beyond it all, we love one another deeply. We love going to our local playspaces, The Phoenix Club, The Castle, and of course Caliente. And in all of this hotness, we push each other to be better, more compassionate, more loving human beings. Open relationships make people better, and this is great for all of us.

So now I find myself married to Crimson Dragonfly, and in a poly, D/s, Switch, Kinky relationship with Myrina, and still swinging and introducing the uninitiated into the joys of kinkiness.
